Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger passed away at the age of 100. He died today at his home in Connecticut.
Henry Kissinger was one of the most respected politicians in the United States and the laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973.
He held key positions in the U.S. government during the Cold War with the USSR and the Vietnam War. He retired from politics by the beginning of the 1980s, but his opinions continue to be influential to this day.
The concept of "shuttle diplomacy" (conflict resolution involving a third party) is associated with Kissinger's name, and he is also referred to as the "patriarch of American foreign policy."
