Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A debt of 4.1 billion soums for heating services to apartments in multi-storey buildings in Ferghana has been deemed unjustified, according to the press service of the Committee on Competition Development and Consumer Protection.

The regional department of the agency received numerous complaints from citizens about the quality of heating in high-rise buildings.

Experts found that many homes did not receive adequate heating services because of frequent accidents in the central heating networks during the heating season, which led to interruptions in supply.

Additionally, consumers suffered from insufficient heating due to low gas pressure and other factors, the statement said.

The Committee noted that 6,146 consumers were incorrectly charged a total of 4.1 billion soums in accounts receivable. The heating company has been ordered to cancel these debts.
