Health Ministers of Uzbekistan and Russia hold meeting

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Russian Minister of Health, Mikhail Murashko, visited Uzbekistan for a working visit.

During the visit, he reviewed the activities of medical institutions and held a meeting with Acting Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Asilbek Khudayarov.

Minister Murashko highlighted that the main areas of cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan are focused on education and advanced technologies in treatment. He emphasized that new opportunities are emerging in outpatient and polyclinic care and in organizing joint projects in pediatrics.

He noted that prevention and monitoring of patients with chronic diseases are key areas. Existing innovative solutions applied in both countries facilitate mutual exchange of knowledge and practices, which is supported by the leaders of both nations.

As part of the visit, Murashko also participated in the 5th meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of government heads of Russia and Uzbekistan, where, in the presence of Prime Ministers Mikhail Mishustin and Abdulla Aripov, an intergovernmental agreement on information interaction was signed.

The agreement concerns the exchange of information on drug labeling codes, which will strengthen the fight against counterfeit and falsified drugs. This exchange of codes eliminates the need for additional labeling and reduces the financial burden on manufacturers.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Health of Russia and the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan. The document outlines the development of cooperation in training, retraining, and continuing education of medical personnel in key areas including nephrology, transplantation, and phthisiatry. The cooperation will include joint conferences, seminars, and training sessions.

Murashko also visited several medical institutions, including a family clinic in Tashkent and a new oncology center. He noted that the new oncology dispensary is designed using advanced technologies and emphasized the importance of supporting innovative projects in the fight against cancer, so that new solutions reach patients as quickly as possible.
