According to the Uzbek Tourism Committee, the French side was informed about rich tourism and historic-cultural potential of Uzbekistan.

The French side also received information on reforms and development of tourism sector, as well as measures, adopted to improve tourism infrastructure.

Chairperson of the State Committee of Uzbekistan on development of tourism noted current high level of the Uzbek-French relations in various spheres. The Uzbek side noted that Uzbekistan created favourable conditions for foreign investors.

The Uzbek side proposed to boost cooperation in tourism industry, including via realization of projects on creation of new and reconstruction of existing objects of tourism infrastructure.

The French tourism companies were invited to take part in International Uzbek Tourism Fair in April 2017. Organization of B2B meetings and study tours was also proposed.

Violaine De Villemeur highly rated tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan and attention of the Uzbek leadership to tourism sector. She said that it is important to raise status of tourism sector to strategic one.

French envoy said that mountain tourism specialist from France will visit Uzbekistan to inspect Chimgan-Charvak resorts and recreation zones to study perspectives of further development of ecologic and other forms of tourism. It is also expected to

French specialist in mountain tourism in Uzbekistan for the purpose of inspection Chimgan-Charvak resort and recreation area for the study of the prospects for further development of environmental and other active forms of tourism, which also involves the development of projects Tourism and leisure activities in this area and to attract foreign investment in their implementation. It is also planned to develop projects on tourism and recreation in these zones, as well as attraction of foreign investments to their implementation.

The sides discussed various projects, including organization of exposition of the Uzbek museums in France, broadcasting programmes about France, its language and culture in Uzbek TV stations.

The sides agreed to develop concrete proposals on further strengthening partnership relations in the tourism sphere between two nations.
