Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 March 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with a delegation of the People’s Republic of China, arrived in Tashkent, headed by a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and the head of the Office of the Commission on Foreign Affairs CPC Central Committee Yang Jiechi.

During the discussion of the multifaceted Uzbek-Chinese agenda, the parties reiterated their interest in further strengthening and expanding a comprehensive strategic partnership in the spirit of mutual respect and trust. The readiness to implement joint infrastructure, production, cultural, humanitarian and other projects under the initiative "One belt, One Road" was emphasized.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, special attention was paid to the prospects of increasing trade, economic and investment cooperation. In this context, proposals for cooperation on transport and communication issues were considered.

The meeting discussed the schedule of the Uzbek-Chinese Forum of Regions and other joint events at various levels this year.

The parties also considered practical aspects of cooperation within the UN, SCO and other international structures.

Ambassador Jiang Yan took part in the negotiations.
