The event was also attended by the heads of the national tourist administrations of 30 countries: Cambodia, Egypt, Lithuania, Malaysia, Myanmar, Paraguay, the Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, etc.
Aziz Abdukhakimov delivered a speech on the rich tourist potential and historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan during panel discussions.
Head of the State Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan attracted attention of world tourism leaders and heads of national tourism administrations to importance of such a unique brand as the Great Silk Road and the historical heritage available on this route.
He stressed that Uzbekistan, located in the center of the Silk Road, connects the East and the West. The presence of a historically significant product and tourism infrastructure makes Uzbekistan one of the important destinations for world tourism.
It was also noted that sustainable development of tourism is achieved by preservation of cultural objects and the systematic improvement of tourist products.
