Han-atlas festival to be held in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The sixth festival of han-atlas, dedicated to the Day of teachers and tutors, will be held at the Center for national art in Tashkent on 28 September 2013.

Fund Forum, Women’s Council, Association of fashion designers of Uzbekistan “Osiyo Ramzi”, Uzbekistan Art Academy, Association of silk breeders and silk producers “O’zbekiston Ipagi” are organizers of the event.

The event will be attended by about 250 teachers and tutors, working in universities, colleges and schools of Tashkent city. Overall, 500 people will participate the festival.

The festival is aimed at involving youth to national values, preserve and promote cultural heritage, traditions and customs.

Young designers prepared 14 collections, which include casual and evening clothes from han-atlas. Designers are students of Tashkent Institite of Textile and Light Industry and the winners of National talented youth contest “Kelajak Ovozi”.

Within the festival, it is also planned to organize exhibition of silk fabrics. The guests of the event should comply with dress code and dress cloth with khan-atlas. The jury will select the best national costume.
