"Hamid and Zulfiya" - Ruslan Saliev’s film about the love of two great poets is being released

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 September, the Milly TV will host the premiere of the film "Hamid and Zulfiya". The film tells about the creativity and love of two great poets of Uzbekistan, the tragic death of Hamid Alimjan and Zulfiya’s devotion to his beloved after his death.

Ruslan Saliev was the scriptwriter, director and music producer. Director of photography is Sarvar Sabirov. The film’s composer is the famous musician Marat Maksudi. The motion picture was shot by Blue White And Green.

“I have been waiting for a very long time to share the results of a project that we have been creating with love for almost a year.

I confess that I wanted to shoot a film about love and creativity of two outstanding poets of our country, Hamid Alimjan and Zulfiya for a long time. This story worried me, and the immersion in poetry strengthened me in the idea that it just needs to be done. The legacy of the poets is an undoubted reason for pride, but besides beautiful works, their history is unconditional love. This has always been a rarity, even more so today. After the tragic death of her husband, Zulfiya throughout her life carried a deep feeling to him, remaining faithful. This is a film about an era when the power of poetry influenced the lives of people and inspired them, about the power of a woman, pain, joy, talent, light. And, of course, love, ”Ruslan Saliev commented on the release of the film.

In musical art performances, poets are read by popular artists: Gavkhar Zakirova, Sevara Nazarkhan, Rustam Sagdullaev, Adiz Radjabov, Yulduz Radjabova, Babur Yuldashev. The film also stars Khasan Salikhov, Nigina Djabarova, Malika Rakhimova, talented dancer Janar Tureyeva and young actors Orkhan Talibov and Malika Sabirjanova.

Relatives of Hamid Alimdjan and Zulfiya Gulchekhra Azimova, Lola Mukhitdinova, Ganidjan Ikramov, daughter of Gafur Gulyam Almaz Akhmedova, journalist Mastura Iskhakova and academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Gennady Chagin share their stories.

Filming took place in Tashkent, Jizzak and Moscow from October 2019 to May 2020.
