Gulistan host business forum “Entrepreneurship – foundation of strong family”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Bank of Uzbekistan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Syrdarya region administration organized a business forum titled “Entrepreneurship – foundation of strong family” in Gulistan city.

It was noted that Syrdarya region carried out wide-scale work on creating stable and favourable business climate for business development in 2011, which is announced in Uzbekistan as the Year of Small Business and Private Entrepreneurship.

In particular, it was said that the volume of issued preferential loans to business structures increased, including to those located in remote areas.

In November-December 2011, the volume of issued loans to small and private businesses in the region made up 95.151 billion, which grew by 1.4 times year-on-year. In the result, some 11,632 new jobs were created in the region.

Currently, over 77% of economically active population works in this sector. Share of the sector in gross regional product of Syrdarya region hit 82%.

Improving mechanism on issuing loans to small and private businesses and increasing the volume of long-term loans, directed to investment purpose, forming starting up capital, modernization and re-equipment of capacities also play important role in this.

It was underlined that the growth of the volume of loans in all districts and cities of the region was achieved in the eleven months of 2011. Development of small and private business favourably impact population well-being.

In next year, in the Family Year, the banking system is planning to improve well-being of population, in particular to create optimal conditions for young families.

In particular, the forecasted volume of loans to small and private businesses will make up over 114.1 billion soums, which is 19 billion soums more compared this year.

At the same time, the attention will be paid to financing projects on development of small business, support of graduates of professional and higher educational establishments, as well as businesswomen.

Within the forum, heads of commercial banks handed over certificates on allocating preferential loans at the size of 5.1 billion soums to winners in 14 nominations on 73 projects.

The participants also determined priority tasks on increasing income of population and ensure of prosperity of family through supporting small and private businesses.
