Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Gulbahor Izentaeva has been appointed as the director of the State Museum of Arts of Karakalpakstan named after I.V. Savitsky, according to KRuz.uz.

Previously, she held the position of head of the Tourism Department of Karakalpakstan.

From February 2017 to early 2021, Gulbahor Izentaeva served as the director of the Savitsky Museum.

She replaces Tigran Mkrtchyan, who won an international competition for the director’s position in 2019. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tigran Mkrtchyan was only able to start his duties in January 2021, and his contract concluded in December 2024.
