Industrial output of the region grew by 7.1% in 2012, construction works – 11.6%, capital investments – 12.9%, retail trade – 12.7% and consumer goods – 5.3%.
According to UzA, share of small and private businesses in GRP in 2012 made up 73.8%.
The region created 65,955 new jobs last year, of which 58,894 fell to share of rural areas. Some 37,000 college graduates received jobs in 2012.
Surkhandarya region constricted 798,900 square meters of habitation in 2012, the report said.
