Green gas emission at post-Soviet area grow by 3% in 2000-2007
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Emission of green gas is increasing at the industrially developed countries despite international obligations, new UN report, presented by Executive Secretariat of UN Convention on Climate Change, said.

In line with the convention and Kyoto Protocol, several industrial countries promised to make efforts to decrease green gas emission, at least by five percent compared to 1990 level.

But reports of industrial countries displays that green gas emission of 40 industrial states grew by 1% in 2007 compared to 2006.

From 2000 to 2007, the level of green gas emission in post Soviet area decreased by 3%. Before that, sharp decrease of green gas emission was observed in 1990s due to decrease of industrial output in the region. The UN report said green gas emission in the CIS states, which signed Kyoto protocol, is 16% less compared to 1990.
