Greece hosts Islam Karimov Kurash Tournament
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
The Eighth International Kurash Tournament “Islam Karimov”, which was included to calendar of main events of International Kurash Association, was held in Thessaloniki, Greece.
UzA reported that over 100 kurash wrestlers from 20 countries participated at the tournament, which has been held since 2004.
The report said that the tournament, which promoted Kurash in Europe, was held in absolute weight caterory.
Vasileios Iliadis of Greece claimed the first place in tournament, while his fellow countryman Dionisis Iliadis was the second. Georgia’s Giorgi Iadze and Bulgaria’s Ivan Iliev shared the third place.
