Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan took the first place in the nomination “The best developing tourist destination” at the Grandvoyage Tourism Awards in Madrid.

The press service of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan said in a statement. In addition to this nomination, three more directions were presented at the ceremony: “The Best Big Journey”, “The Best Destination for a Honeymoon”, “The Best Hotel-Resort”.

The winners were selected by a vote on Grandvoyage.com. The competition is organized by one of the largest Spanish travel companies, Grandvoyage.

President of the company A.Arbarka noted that the awarding of Uzbekistan with the Grandvoyage Tourism Awards is recognition of the results of the work carried out in the country to modernize the tourism industry, as well as the growth of recognition of the travel industry of Uzbekistan not only in Spain, but throughout the world.
