Graduates of Japanese universities hold meeting in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The eighth meeting of the Alumni Club of Japanese Universities took place at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador in Tashkent.

The event gathered graduates who received their education in Japan and are now actively contributing to Uzbekistan’s development by implementing international experiences across various sectors. Japanese Ambassador Takashi Hattori noted that Uzbeks educated in Japanese universities demonstrate significant achievements, and the club’s activities exemplify successful cooperation.

One of the attendees, Dilafruz Ikramova, a professor at Yamagata University, discussed her involvement in a project aimed at developing small and medium-sized businesses in Uzbekistan, supported by Japan. The project includes training for Uzbek entrepreneurs and the preparation of business mentors. Ikramova emphasized the importance of social entrepreneurship inspired by Japanese experiences.

Another graduate, Nodir Haidarov, a consultant at the National Bank of Uzbekistan, shared his educational experience at Waseda University and participation in the Uzbek-Japanese Center for Business Administration project. He highlighted the significance of the Japanese approach to business development through thorough analysis and attention to detail.

Nodira Muratova, a graduate of the YLP program at Nagoya Imperial University, spoke about her contributions to improving healthcare quality in Uzbekistan, including her work on a JICA project focused on disease prevention. Muratova pointed out the similarities between Uzbek and Japanese mentalities, particularly regarding collectivism and the importance of community.

Participants also discussed new initiatives, including the creation of a platform for interaction between Uzbek and Japanese entrepreneurs and the enhancement of scientific exchange.
