Grace period for loans allocated to greenhouse farms extended to 5 years

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution “On additional measures to improve the efficiency of greenhouse operations” was adopted.

According to the resolution, more favorable conditions will be created for the most favorable conditions for the cost-effective functioning of greenhouses and cold stores.

The maturity of loans in national and foreign currency allocated to greenhouse farms and cold stores are set in the general account for 14 years, and the grace period is extended from 3 to 5 years.

To provide greenhouse farms with working capital, banks provide a loan for a period of 1 year with a 6-month grace period.

At the same time, these loans are financed by a budget loan allocated to the Horticulture and Greenhouse Development Agency.

Bank loans in foreign currency are allocated at the expense of the Export Promotion Agency for working capital necessary for growing export-oriented products in greenhouses at a rate of 4 percent per annum (of which the bank’s margin is 2 percent).

The terms of repayment of allocated loans are brought into line with the terms of harvesting in greenhouses and its sale.

As an exception, greenhouse farms will not be charged penalties for late payment for natural gas from 1 October 2022 to 1 April 2023.
