With its resolution, the government approved a regulation on Fund for Development of information-communication technologies, structure of its office and Council of Fund for Development of information-communication technologies.
According to regulation, Fund for Development of information-communication technologies was created to finance priority and socially important projects, scientific-research works in development of communication, informatization and telecommunication technologies.
Resources of the Fund will be accumulated due to 50% resources, received from state duties for issuing licenses for telecommunication activities, 30% of resources, received from payments for use of subscriber numbers till 1 January 2018.
Fund will also receive 45% of resources, levied as fines from legal entities, which operate in telecommunication sector, income received from placement of free money at banking deposits, sponsors resources, etc.
The resources of the fund will be used to finance development and implementation of projects on introduction of intergovernmental information systems of the state bodies, development and modernization of telecommunication network, systems in communication, television and radio broadcasting, formation of national Internet segment, development of new services, and others.
Legal entities of any form, which work in Uzbekistan in line with corresponding licenses, educational establishments, scientific-research institutions, regulation bodies, telecommunication organizations and others can receive resources of the Fund.
The Fund issues resources as no-string financial investments and grants to finance projects on development of communication, informatization and telecommunication technologies, which passed preliminary selection.
