Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - From 2020, the Tax Code introduced the payment of VAT by foreign companies that provide individuals in Uzbekistan with electronic services. This was reported by the press service of the State Tax Committee.

The State Tax Committee created a special resource for such companies in our country - the VAT office of Internet companies.

To date, 9 foreign companies have voluntarily registered through the VAT office in Uzbekistan as taxpayers:

- Google Commerce Limited

- Google Ireland Limited

- Google Voice Inc

- Apple Distribution International Limited

- Netflix International B.V.

- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.

- Сleverbridge AG

- Xsolla (USA), Inc.

- Activision Blizzard International BV

The first VAT was paid by Google Commerce Limited. Based on the results of operations for the first quarter of this year, the company paid 85 thousand euros.

Voluntary registration is evidence that foreign companies value their reputation and respect the laws of the countries in which they provide their paid services.

Considering that e-commerce is also actively developing in our country, such a positive experience of voluntary registration and payment of taxes is a good example for local entrepreneurs.

Applications from foreign companies for registration through the VAT office at the STC continue to be received.
