The meeting was dedicated to discussion of implementation, results and perspectives of several joint projects in cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Germany and Uzbekistan, implemented at assistance of Goethe-Institute.
The sides noted success of concert of jazz musician from German Arne Jansen, which was held in summer in Tashkent at the assistance of Goethe-Institute. Johannes Dahl called to organize return visit of Sogdiana national instrumental orchestra to Germany. The sides agreed to discuss possible terms later.
Goethe-Institute director briefed Uzbek Culture Minister Tursunali Kuziev with a project “Music of Glacier”. Johannes Dahl invited the Uzbek minister to participate opening ceremony and asked help to receive support letter from Tashkent city administration.
The guests also provided information on project “Art City”, which is supported by Tashkent administration. Johannes Dahls said that the project will be positive step in cultural life in Tashkent city and Uzbekistan as a whole.
Johannes Dahl also informed the Uzbek side on implementation of project on holding scientific-practical conference with the participation of State Art Museum of Uzbekistan. The conference “Museum – as center for communication of city” will be held next year.
Goethe-Institute chief also informed about a project of Goethe-Institute, Youth Theatre of Dresden and Youth Theatre of Uzbekistan, which envisages exchange of directors, choreographers, dramatists and actors. The project should lead to joint play in Dresden and Tashkent.
Minister of Culture and Sport Affairs of Uzbekistan Tursunali Kuziev offered to head of Goethe-Institute in Tashkent to consider a joint project on restoration of museums, which will create conditions for training of young Uzbek museum specialists-restorers, experience exchange and attraction of new technologies in this area.
