The project is expected to be implemented in two stages. By the end of 2009, the company plans to build a US$27.3 million workshop with an annual production capacity of 1.37 million vehicle body panels. In 2010, the company plans to install a US$10 million production line at the workshop with an annual capacity of 1 million panels.

The new facility will increase the company’s annual production of vehicle body panels from current 7.3 million units to 9.7 million units.

GM Uzbekistan plans to finance the project with its own funds.
