GM Uzbekistan starts production of Chevrolet Cobalt sedan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- GM Uzbekistan, an Uzbek-US joint venture, will launch production of Chevrolet Cobalt budget sedan in 2013, Managing Director of Chevrolet in Russia Alexander Moynov said on 6 December.

Alexander Moynov said that Chevrolet Cobalt is designed for emerging markets, first of all in Russia, Brazil, India, China and South Korea. New model will significantly differ from Cobalt of the US model.

“We are planning to organize full production of new model there in 2013. The development plans of Russia are approved. Besides, Cobalt is mass model, which requires large capacities, which Russia does not have. GM Uzbekistan has capacities. Besides, the production three is cheaper and taking into account localization, we can import cars to Russia without duties,” he said.
