Global PC shipment drop by 10% in 2013
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Global shipment of personal computers are falling for the seventh quarter a year, according to data of the analytical companies Gartner and IDC.

Gartner said that PC shipment in 2013 fell by 10% year-on-year to 315.967 million units. In its turn, IDC said that some 314.54 million PC were shipped worldwide in 2013, which fell by 10% year-on-year.

In the fourth quarter of2013, PC shipments fell by 6.9% year-on-year to 82.633 million units, according to Gartner. IDC data said that the figure decreased by 5.6% year-on-year to 82.221 million units.

Both companies said that China’s Lenovo leads on number of shipped PC in the world. Gartner said Lenovo shipped 53.272 million computers in 2013, which rose by 2.1% year-on-year. Its market share made up 16.9% in 2013.

IDC said that the Chinese firm shipped 53.77 million computers in 2013, which grew by 2.7% year-on-year. Its share in the market made up 17.1% in 2013.

HP and Dell were second and third respectively in 2013. HP shipped 51.252 million computers in 2013, while IDC said it sold 52.171 million computers. Its market share was 16.2% in line with Gartner data and 16.6% in line with IDC information.

Dell shipped 37.391 million PCs in 2013 (market share 11.6%), the Gartner said. IDC noted that Dell shipped 37.79 million PC and its market share was 12%.
