Global Money Week in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank hosted the final stage of the Global Money Week campaign, which was held for the first time on a large scale in the republic from February to April this year.

As a member of the OECD International Network for Financial Education, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Central Bank acted as coordinator of Global Money Week events in Uzbekistan, with the participation of the Youth Union, an IT park and commercial banks.

In particular, 17 commercial banks held more than 140 events for schoolchildren and pupils of orphanages in all regions of the country and covered over 120 educational institutions.

Directly by the Central Bank itself, competition for the best works in the field of financial literacy have been announced such as: a contest among young people for the best video, a contest among the media for the best articles and projects, a contest among bloggers for the best post on social networks.

The main goal of these events is to increase the level of financial literacy of the population by increasing youth interest in this topic, increasing the quantity and quality of information and educational and educational publications in print and online media, as well as in social networks.

During the awarding ceremony, the winners of the competitions in three categories were awarded memorable prizes and valuable gifts.

The Central Bank plans to launch the Global Money Week campaign in the future on an annual basis.

Global Money Week is an annual global educational campaign to raise the awareness of children and youth about finances. In 2019, 175 countries of the world were involved in the event.
