Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent hosted a meeting of representatives of Tashkent city administration with Christian Kunig, director of the German Association of Private Mortgage Institutions.

The parties examined the possibilities of cooperation in the field of mortgage lending, the press service of Tashkent khokimiyat said.

During the conversation, the First Deputy Khokim of the city of Tashkent, Davron Khidoyatov, presented the guest with information about the reforms being carried out in the capital, including construction. He noted the growth of housing, being built in Tashkent, in particular, this year it is planned to build about 400 residential buildings with more than 18,000 apartments.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the issue of providing the population with affordable housing.

In particular, Christian Kunig noted that the German Association of Private Mortgage Institutions offers affordable housing loans. According to the guest, German mortgage lending is fundamentally different. In particular, the home buyer pays up to 40 or 50 percent of the cost of housing, and then receives a loan from 1.5 to 3.5 percent per month.

German experts have proposed in this regard their cooperation with the coverage of the whole of Uzbekistan, including Tashkent, in order to convey the experience of affordable mortgage lending.

The first deputy mayor of Tashkent, Davron Khidoyatov, said that systematic work is being carried out in the capital to provide the population with affordable housing.
