Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Germany have signed an agreement to provide a new grant aimed at developing a "green" economy, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The document was signed on 3 December in Tashkent during the Territory Development Forum. On behalf of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the agreement was signed by the program manager of GIZ, Bayatu Shorait, while Uzbekistan's first deputy minister of economy and finance, Ilkhom Norkulov, signed on behalf of Uzbekistan.
Under the agreement, Uzbekistan will receive €9 million (approximately $9.45 million). The grant funds will be used to support the development and implementation of "green" master plans, which will be a crucial step in advancing the country's sustainable development.
