The embassy said the Central Asian region takes special attention in her work at the foreign affairs committee of Bundestag and this is her second visit to Uzbekistan in last six months.

The visit is aimed at participation in Aral Sea Conference in Tashkent and hold negotiations with ministries and departments of Uzbekistan, German and foreign organizations in Uzbekistan.

It is expected that Marieluise Beck will meet Human Rights Commissioner of Oliy Majlis (ombudsperson) Sayyora Rashidova and director of women madrasah in Tashkent Malikahon Nurmihamedova.

It is also planned that German MP will meet speaker of Legislative Chamber (lower house) of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Dilorom Tashmuhammedova, representatives of Senate, Office of Prosecutor-General and National University of Uzbekistan.
