Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at Registan Square, where Scholz arrived for an official visit.

Registan Square, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, symbolizes the grandeur and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. The square’s madrasahs—Mirzo Ulughbek, Sherdor, and Tillya-Kori—impress with their vast scale, rich history, and unique architecture.

During the visit, Chancellor Scholz was introduced to the history and architectural features of this Eastern masterpiece, as well as the cultural heritage of the Uzbek people. President Mirziyoyev and Chancellor Scholz discussed the significance of Samarkand as a major international business and tourist center.

The visit concluded with a photo session in front of the Registan Ensemble.
