Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Next week, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will visit Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on an official trip, the German Federal Government announced.
The visit will take place from 15 to 17 September and will be Scholz’s first trip to Central Asia.
During the visit, the Chancellor will hold bilateral talks with the leaders of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The discussions will focus on deepening cooperation between the countries and addressing bilateral and international political issues.
Additionally, on 17 September, Scholz will participate in the “Central Asia + Germany” (Z5+1) summit, which will be held in Kazakhstan. This will be the second meeting in this format; the first occurred in Berlin last year, resulting in the establishment of a strategic regional partnership initiative.
The German Federal Government highlights that the visit aims to give new momentum to this regional initiative. The Chancellor will be accompanied by a large delegation of high-level economic representatives.
