Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the Automechanika 2024 in Frankfurt, Geely introduced its new electric crossover, the EX5, setting new standards in the EV segment. This model, designed for global markets, highlights Geely's leadership in technology and innovation.
Within the first 100 days of its launch in China, more than 500,000 units of the Geely EX5 (known as the E5 in China) were sold, reflecting its immense popularity. The company may bring this model to Uzbekistan in 2025.
Technology and Performance
The Geely EX5 is built on the Geely Electric Architecture (GEA) platform, which provides an optimal 50/50 weight distribution for enhanced stability and handling. The model is powered by a robust 160 kW (218 hp) motor, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds.
The vehicle is available with two battery options:
- 49.52 kWh, offering a range of up to 440 km.
- 60.22 kWh, providing a range of up to 530 km (based on CLTC standards).
Design and Aerodynamics
The aerodynamic shape of the Geely EX5, with an impressive drag coefficient of 0.269, not only improves energy efficiency but also emphasizes its modern style.

The interior features a minimalist design crafted with high-quality materials.
Smart Technology and Software
The Geely EX5 is equipped with the FLYME Auto multimedia system, developed in collaboration with Meizu (a Geely subsidiary), and a FLYME SOUND audio system delivering premium sound quality.
A 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a heads-up display (in premium trims) further enhance the model's technological appeal.
Spaciousness and Comfort
The crossover offers a trunk capacity of 461 liters, expandable to 1,877 liters with the rear seats folded down.
The cabin is fitted with ergonomic Marshmallow seats, featuring heating, ventilation, and massage functions.
Additional storage options include a sliding drawer under the rear seat and an organizer in the trunk.
Prospects in the Uzbek Market
Geely plans to enter the Uzbek market in 2025 and the EX5 may be one of the first models introduced to local consumers.
