Geely Auto prepares to enter the Uzbek market

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Chinese automobile brand Geely is actively preparing to enter the Uzbek market, aiming to introduce its vehicles in 2025.

The company plans to offer cars with advanced technology, enhanced safety features, and a luxurious driving experience, as well as reliable and convenient services.

Geely is one of the largest global automotive groups and has been on the Fortune Global 500 list for 11 consecutive years, ranking 185th in 2024. It is also the only Asian car brand represented in the IATF (International Automotive Task Force), a global body setting standards in the automotive industry.

Geely’s portfolio includes premium brands like Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, Zeekr, Lynk & Co, and Smart. The company is also the largest shareholder of Daimler Group, Inc. and has a strong collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.

With a global presence and a powerful R&D team, Geely operates design and engineering centers in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Gothenburg (Sweden), Coventry (UK), California (USA), and Frankfurt (Germany). The company employs over 20,000 design and R&D specialists from around the world.

Geely is actively responding to global changes in the automotive industry by focusing on green technology. The company is committed to developing new energy technologies, shared mobility, connected vehicles, autonomous driving, automotive chips, low-orbit satellites, and laser communication, strengthening its competitive edge.

One of Geely’s notable initiatives is its space program, which plans to launch 240 satellites, with the first phase of 72 satellites expected to be completed by 2025. These satellites will be used in areas such as autonomous driving, drone navigation, logistics, and mapping.

Since entering the automotive industry, Geely has maintained a focus on independent R&D of core engine technologies to stay at the forefront of innovation. The company leads in R&D, conducting research, testing, and development across all stages of the automotive lifecycle—from naturally aspirated and turbo engines to electrification and new energy technologies. Currently, over 100 models from Geely, Lynk & Co, Proton, and other European brands are equipped with Geely engines and are successfully sold in more than 60 countries and regions.

According to Mr. Levi, Geely Auto’s Brand and Communications Manager, the company plans to conduct market research and test drives in Uzbekistan before launching its vehicles. After a careful analysis of Uzbek consumers’ needs, Geely intends to introduce its models to the country’s market.

The models featured in these research and test events will cover a broad range, including electric and hybrid models, allowing all Geely’s international models to potentially be introduced in Uzbekistan.

Mr. Levi noted that Geely vehicles planned for sale in Uzbekistan have already received high praise from consumers in countries such as Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. “We are confident that Geely will bring a more technologically advanced and safe driving experience to Uzbekistan, as well as reliable and convenient services,” he added.
