Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A gas station in Ferghana, where an explosion occurred recently, is set to be demolished, according to the press service of the regional emergency management department (UCHS).
The decision was made at the initiative of the station's owner, and the facility will not be operational in the future.
The UCHS emphasized that the current priority is ensuring the safety of local residents and surrounding areas, as well as preventing potential future emergencies.
The explosion at the gas station in Ferghana occurred on 17 December. The tragedy was caused by violations of safety procedures and technological requirements during the offloading of liquefied gas.
As a result of the explosion, four people were killed, and eight others are under medical observation.
