Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 September, a gas explosion occurred in one of the multi-story buildings in Samarkand, as reported by the Emergency Management Department of Samarkand Region.

The incident took place around 17:30 on Beruni Street, in an apartment on the third floor. The explosion was likely caused by a gas-air mixture.

As a result, windows were shattered in several apartments, from which black smoke was seen emanating. Debris from the blast was scattered on the street.

According to emergency officials, two individuals sustained injuries and were hospitalized. Fortunately, the explosion did not lead to a fire.

Law enforcement representatives arrived at the scene, and a preliminary investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the incident.
