Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilyor Khakimov met with the General Director at Gazprombank Luxembourg Dmitry Derkatch and his first deputy Sergey Nekrasov.

Head of the Transport Networks Department of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan Ilkhomjon Nimatullayev also attended the negotiations.

During the meeting, the sides the decisive role of Gazprombank in placement of debut Eurobond issue of Uzbekistan with a cumulative amount of 1 billion euros at the beginning of this year.

It was emphasized that the bank is firmly committed to building up mutually beneficial cooperation with the country.

Representatives of Gazprombank expressed their willingness to consider various options for financing investment projects in the energy and trade sectors, as well as in agriculture. The interest was also confirmed in elaboration of projects for financing export operations of Uzbekistan companies in international markets.

Following the negotiations, a number of agreements were reached, under which further activity of the parties is expected on attracting investments for modernization of the country’s low-voltage networks; on financing 7 projects related to trunk electric lines; on the study of projects in renewable energy sources, including the construction of wind and solar stations; preparation of proposals for financing investment projects in Namangan region.
