Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first Games of the CIS countries have been postponed to the summer of 2021 and will be held in Kazan, said the Minister of Sports of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov.
Initially, the Games were scheduled for 20-27 August 2020, however, due to the difficult epidemiological situation of the coronavirus pandemic, it was decided to postpone it to September and then to October. Now, these CIS Games are scheduled to be held in the summer of 2021.
Athletes aged 14 to 23 were to take part in competitions in 22 sports, it was planned to play about 280 sets of medals.
The decision to host the Games of the CIS countries was made at a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Governments in October 2019.
