Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 6 to 8 November, Tashkent became the focus of the aviation industry, hosting experts and leaders to discuss the future of air traffic. The Uzbek capital held two major international events.

‘‘Special Coordination Meeting of the ICAO Route Development Group (RDGE-SCM/2024):’’ This meeting brought together representatives from aviation administrations of 10 countries and 3 international organizations, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Eurocontrol, IATA, and IBAC.

The aim of the meeting was to collaboratively develop and implement new air traffic routes in the Eastern European region of ICAO, Central Asia, and the South Caucasus.

‘‘39th Meeting of the Eurasia Coordination Group of Experts and Coordination Council:’’ Representatives from 8 countries, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, gathered to improve the efficiency of problem-solving in air traffic management.

The ICAO Route Development Group was established in 2004 to ensure the effective and safe operation of civil flights.

The Eurasia Coordination Council was established in 1999 to address air traffic management challenges swiftly.

These events represent a significant step toward enhancing air traffic safety and efficiency in the region, while also strengthening international cooperation in the aviation sector.
