Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 May 2022, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Malaysia Kamarudin Jaffar, who arrived in our country on a working visit.
It was noted that the visit of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Malaysia, held in the year of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, provides an opportunity to identify new promising areas of bilateral cooperation.
A wide range of issues on the Uzbek-Malaysian agenda was discussed, special attention was paid to the prospects for developing cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The parties expressed their interest in intensifying political dialogue, strengthening inter-parliamentary ties, cooperation within international organizations and expanding educational and humanitarian exchanges.
The importance of taking mutual measures to increase trade and diversify its structure, as well as to restore tourist exchange and resume regular and charter flights between Uzbekistan and Malaysia was emphasized. Proposals for further promotion of economic diplomacy were considered.
An exchange of views took place on topical issues of international and regional politics.
