From 1 July, banknotes of 200 and 500 soums are withdrawn from circulation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Regulation on the procedure for exchanging and withdrawing from circulation coins of denomination of 50, 100 soums, as well as banknotes of 50, 100, 200 and 500 soums of the old type of the Central Bank (reg. No. 3014 of 05.19. 2018), from 1 July 2020, become invalid as legal tender:

banknotes of 200 soums in 1997;

banknotes of 500 soums in 1999.

These old-style banknotes will be accepted by all branches of commercial banks until 1 July 2020, and after this date they can be exchanged directly at the cash settlement centers of the Central Territorial Departments of the Central Bank for banknotes in circulation.

In this regard, the Central Bank recalls that if there are banknotes of 200 and 500 soums of the old type, they can be exchanged for banknotes in circulation in the prescribed manner.
