"Friendship Garden" to be established in Dushanbe as a symbol of Uzbekistan-Tajikistan cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The creation of the "Friendship Garden" has begun in Dushanbe, a symbolic project reflecting the strengthening partnership between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
This initiative aims not only to reinforce bilateral cooperation but also to promote environmental sustainability and agricultural development in the region.
On 12 February, during an official visit to Tajikistan, the Director of Uzbekistan’s Agency for Agribusiness Development held talks with the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan, Asozoda Nuraly Mahmadullo.
The discussions focused on key aspects of the project’s implementation, with both sides agreeing on priority measures. The Uzbek delegation also inspected the allocated land in Dushanbe designated for the garden and outlined the initial phases of its development.
Following the negotiations, practical work on-site commenced the same day.
The project encompasses several essential components. A drip irrigation system will be introduced to optimize water resource use and create favorable conditions for agricultural growth. High-quality fruit tree saplings, carefully selected in Uzbekistan to suit Tajikistan’s climate, are being prepared for shipment. Specialized agricultural techniques will also be applied to ensure successful planting and growth.
Additionally, the initiative includes comprehensive soil preparation, such as fertility enhancement, the application of quality fertilizers, and the creation of optimal conditions for high yields.
Infrastructure development will be another key aspect, featuring efficient irrigation systems, protective and maintenance mechanisms, landscaping, and an organized planting process.
The project also emphasizes professional support through agronomic consultations and knowledge exchange between Uzbek and Tajik specialists, enhancing agricultural collaboration between the two nations.
Beyond its agricultural and environmental benefits, the "Friendship Garden" stands as a testament to the enduring ties between the Uzbek and Tajik people, paving the way for further cooperation across multiple sectors.
