Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the end of November, Tashkent residents will have the opportunity to see the best French films on the big screen.
The French Film Premiere Festival will showcase films that have not been released in cinemas in Uzbekistan before, offering a glimpse into contemporary French cinema.
The festival is organized by the French Institute in Uzbekistan, Tashkent Film School, and moc, with the support of the French Embassy and the Center for the Development of National Cinema in Uzbekistan. The event will take place from 21 to 24 November at the “Panorama” cinema (Alisher Navoi National Cinema Palace) and kinoxona.
The program will feature the latest festival hits, animated films for family viewing, and French cinema classics. A wide selection of genres will ensure interest for audiences of all ages. Admission is free.

Opening of the festival with the screening of the biographical drama Niki (directed by Céline Sallette), which tells the story of a young artist who emigrated from the United States to France during the McCarthy era.
The film participated in the Un Certain Regard program at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

Special screening of the legendary crime drama Le Samouraï in 4K in memory of the great Alain Delon.

Family animated film Animal New Year Stories, where cute animals embark on a festive journey across different countries, and romantic melodrama Black Tea (directed by Abderrahmane Sissako), telling the story of a love affair between a tea shop owner and a young woman who came to Asia after a failed wedding.
The film participated in the 2024 Berlinale competition.

Closing of the festival with the drama The Story of Suleiman (directed by Boris Lozhkin), which tells the challenging journey of a migrant from French Guiana seeking asylum in France.
