French Development Agency and Issiklikta’minoti to Renovate Heating Network in Ferghana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The French Development Agency (AFD) in cooperation with the state company Issiklikta’minoti will undertake the renovation of the heating network in Ferghana. This was announced by the press service of Issiklikta’minoti.
On 10 July, a memorandum of understanding was signed regarding the project to modernize the district heating system in the Kirguli neighborhood — a suburb of Ferghana located closest to the Ferghana Thermal Power Plant. The implementation of this initiative is planned for 2027–2029.
The project includes upgrading 76 kilometers of heating pipelines and installing approximately 380 individual heating units at various locations. The preliminary estimated cost of the work is US$39.9 million.
It is expected that upon completion of the project, centralized heating will be provided to 317 apartment buildings housing about 16,600 households. Heating in 41 social facilities located within the neighborhood will also be improved.
The modernization of the Kirguli heating system is part of a plan approved by the president in March 2025 for the renovation of heating networks with the involvement of international financial institutions.
By 2030, the plan foresees the implementation of 13 heating modernization projects totaling US$325 million. Five of these projects will be carried out specifically in the Ferghana region, representing the highest number among the country’s regions.
