Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 May, a delegation from France led by the Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan Aurelia Bouchez visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the sights of the city of Samarkand, with the ancient history of the city, as well as with the activities of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, as part of the development of Uzbek-French relations in the field of education and tourism.
During the visit, Ms. Aurelia Bouchez had an official conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the “Silk Road” University A. Abdukhakimov. The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the educational field. The rector noted the need to maintain strong working contacts, as well as to establish an academic bridge for the unimpeded mobility of students and teachers of universities in both countries.
It is noteworthy that the French Ambassador to Uzbekistan Aurelia Bouchez donated unique books on architecture, museology, and gastronomic tourism to the Library Fund of the University.
“These books will take a special place on the shelves of the library and raise the potential of knowledge in the field of architecture, cultural heritage and gastronomic tourism to a higher quality level” – A. Abdukhakimov noted.
In accordance with the mutual desire of the peoples of France and Uzbekistan to develop educational cooperation as the basis for the training of highly qualified personnel for the foreign economic relations of the two countries, having common priorities in the development of tourism and scientific research, the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage has maintained close cooperation with higher educational institutions of France.
