Fourth session of Uzbek-Polish intergovernmental commission to convene in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Fourth session of the Uzbek-Polish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation will be held in Tashkent on 25 May 2011, deputy director of Department for Bilateral International Cooperation of the Ministry of Economy of Poland Elzbieta Bodio said in Tashkent on 6 May.

Elzbieta Bodio underlined that intergovernmental commission play important role in relations of Uzbekistan and Poland.

She underlined that the commission helps to determine existing problems and the ways of their eliminating, perspectives of cooperation and tools for their development.

Elzbieta Bodio stated that the delegation of Poland will include several deputy ministers and officials from Polish state bodies, which shows high interest of Poland in developing relations with Uzbekistan.

She said that the perspective directions of bilateral cooperation are financial sector, agriculture, tourism. She added that the Polish companies are also interested in implementation of projects at Navoi free industrial and economic zone. It is expected these and other issues will be considered at the session of the commission.

Bodio underlined that Uzbekistan and Poland have positive experience of cooperation in financial sector. She recalled that Poland allocated two loans for US$30 million and both sides were satisfied with this cooperation.

She said that Poland offered Uzbekistan to provide one more loan for US$50 million and the sides are discussing projects, which can be financed. She added that the resources will be directed to priority projects of Uzbekistan. She said that the resources can be used to finance projects in coal and agriculture industry, as well as green technologies.

Bodio said that the Polish companies can help Uzbekistan in implementation of the programme on developing and strengthening of material-technical base of fruit and vegetable storing. She said that Poland accrued great experience in agriculture sector and the country is ready to share it with Uzbekistan.
