In new season, 14 clubs will participate in the Uzbek Premier League. Sogdiana and Bukhara will head to the First League, while none will be promoted. The teams will play traditionally in two rounds.
Farms club of Bunyodkor and Mashal were promoted to the Premier League last season, but they cannot participate in the league to avoid any violation of sporting principles.
The First League will be divided into two zones to cut expenses of the clubs. The best four-five clubs will play each other to book place in the Premier League.
However, the UFF will review format of the league and cup in September 2010.
