Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Four people were killed in an explosion at a multi-fuel gas station in Ferghana region.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), the explosion occurred at 13:43 during the process of offloading liquefied gas. The cause of the incident was identified as violations of the technological process and safety regulations.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 13:47, localized the fire by 14:02, and completely extinguished it by 14:12.

According to the regional Department of Internal Affairs, one person died at the scene, while several others nearby sustained injuries of varying severity and were transported to the hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, three of the injured later died in the hospital.

An investigation has been launched, and five individuals involved in the incident have been arrested. The circumstances of the explosion are being clarified.
