Forest lands to be leased through “E-ijara”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to improve lease relations when using land plots of the state forest fund” was adopted.

From 1 January 2024:

collection, consideration and coordination with government agencies of materials on the provision of unused forest land for lease will be carried out through the E-ijara information system;

“zero rate” rent for the use of forest lands is applied when developing land plots:

not provided with water and not covered with forests, and the creation of plantations of agricultural products and medicinal plants - within 3 years;

not provided with water and not covered with forest, and the creation of nut (pistachio, almond and walnut) orchards and plantations of fast-growing trees (paulownia, poplar, etc.) - within 5 years;

located in the desert zone of the forest fund, not provided with water and not covered with forest, and the creation of plantations of desert and pasture plants (saxaul, solyanka, kandym, karabarak, etc.) - within 10 years.

Until 1 July 2024, all existing lease agreements for forest lands will be registered with the Cadastre Agency. At the same time, individuals will not be charged a fee for state registration of contracts.

Unregistered agreements will be terminated and the land will be put up for online auction.

Administrative regulations for the provision of forest fund lands for lease through an electronic online auction have been approved.

Forest fund lands are provided for a period of 3 to 49 years for:

creation of forests and fruit and nut orchards and creation of plantations of medicinal plants - from 1 to 20 hectares;

planting seedlings of fruit and ornamental trees, organizing lemonariums and greenhouses, creating hunting farms - from 0.1 to 2 hectares;

creating plantations of fast-growing trees - from 1 to 10 hectares;

planting agricultural products - from 0.1 to 10 hectares;

beekeeping, organization of activities of zones of ecological tourism, recreation, health improvement and recreation (with the condition of not causing harm to flora and fauna) - from 0.01 to 2 hectares;

fish farming – from 0.1 to 5 hectares.

The provision of land plots to enterprises with foreign investment, international associations and organizations, foreign individuals and legal entities will be carried out by the Cabinet of Ministers.
