Foreign trade turnover Uzbekistan reaches US$12.066bn in 1H 2011
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$12.066 billion in the first half of 2011 (+21%), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

Trade turnover of Uzbekistan with the CIS states hit US$5.025 billion (+29.9%) and with other states – US$7.041 billion (+15.4%) in the reporting period.

Export operations of Uzbekistan in the first six months reached US$7.241 billion (+18.9%) and import operations –US$4.825 billion (+24.4%).

Unbalance in foreign trade was 150.1 percent in January-June 2011 versus 157 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Exports of Uzbekistan to the CIS countries grew by 30.7% year-on-year in the reporting period to US$3.042 billion. The exports with other countries rose by 11.6% to US$4.199 billion.

The volume of imports of Uzbekistan with the CIS countries made up US$1.982 billion in the first half of 2011, which grew by 28.9% year-on-year. Imports of Uzbekistan from other countries surged by 21.4% to US$2.842 billion in January-June 2011.

Foreign trade surplus made up $2.417 billion, including US$1.06 billion with the CIS countries and US$1.357 billion with other foreign countries.

In the reporting period, share of the CIS countries in Uzbekistan’s trade turnover made up 41.6% (38.8% in 1H 2010) and other states – 58.4% (61.2%).

Share of other countries in exports of Uzbekistan fell from 61.8% in January-June 2010 to 58% in the same period of 2011, and the share of the CIS countries grew from 38.2% to 42%.

Share of the CIS countries in imports of Uzbekistan grew from 39.7% to 41.1% and other countries dropped from 60.3% to 58.9%.
