Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and Georgia hold political consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 December 2023, political consultations were held between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Georgia in the city of Tbilisi.

The delegation from Uzbekistan was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bobur Usmanov, and from Georgia by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Khvtisiashvili.

The parties highly appreciated the positive dynamics in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries, the growth of mutual visits and the implementation of agreements at the government level.

The meeting reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of mutual interest.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of further expanding the legal framework for cooperation, developing inter-parliamentary dialogue, accelerating the implementation of joint projects in the areas of trade and industrial cooperation, holding the first interregional forum, a business council meeting and exhibitions of domestic manufacturers in Georgia and Uzbekistan.

During the negotiations, special attention was paid to strengthening ties in the fields of tourism, culture and education.

In light of the upcoming 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Georgia in 2024, the parties agreed to develop a Plan of joint events to celebrate this significant date.

There was also an exchange of views on topical issues of a regional and international nature.
