Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan holds a number of meetings with colleagues from EU countries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 April, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov, who took part in the work of the Uzbekistan-EU Cooperation Council, held bilateral meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the French Republic Andre Vallini, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavsky, with Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto, with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonnoy, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Antonio Tajani.

 “The agenda of the meeting included issues of maintaining prosperity and sustainable development in the Central Asian region, ensuring peace and stability, supporting reforms in Uzbekistan, etc,” said B. Saidov.

Within the framework of the meetings, an exchange of views took place on upcoming joint events in various formats. During the conversation, a list of joint events planned for 2023 in the formats "Uzbekistan - the European Union" and "Central Asia - the European Union" was considered. The participants of the meeting noted the importance of the soonest signing of the Agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation between Uzbekistan.

In addition, the prospects for expanding Uzbek-European cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.

The parties considered proposals on the schedule of upcoming bilateral and interregional events at various levels.
