Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In the first quarter of 2021, foreign companies providing electronic services paid 4.3 billion soums to the state budget of Uzbekistan as value added tax (VAT). This was reported by the State Tax Committee.

Facebook paid VAT in the amount of 5.98 billion soums in 2020. Uzbekistan received 3.45 billion soums to the state budget from Google.

Apple paid taxes in the amount of 1.93 billion soums in 2020. The state budget in 2020 received 190 million soums from Netflix, 181 million soums from Booking.com and 136 million soums from Yandex.

As of 1 April 2021, 26 foreign companies were registered as VAT payers.
