The journal published a material dedicated to the most interesting tourism peculiarities of the former Soviet Union states, including Uzbekistan.

The magazine said that Uzbekistan is a country of cotton fields and cities with resonant names and long history – Samarkand, Khiva and Bukhara.

The publication said that along with ancient monuments people should visit Uzbekistan for its cuisine and the most popular meal – pilaf. The country has over 100 variants of pilaf, which each Uzbek can differ with closed eyes – Samarkand, Ferghana, Tashkent, Kashkadarya, Bukahara and Khorezm pilafs. Locals name the pilaf as osh, which means food. The pilaf is cooked in fantastic volumes.

The magazine said that the tourists should visit Pilaf Center near Tashkent TV Tower, where locals gather to have a lunch. It added that it is difficult to find pilaf for dinner.

Those who want to taste shashliks (barbeques) and samsas should visit other district of Tashkent. The tourists should visit Chimbay for shashliks and Chigatay for breads and samsas.

The magazine said that next city to visit is Samarkand. There are many monuments and Siab bazaar, where various fruits, vegetables, nuts, spices and local sweets are sold. The magazine added that there are strict customs rules in Uzbekistan and the tourists will not be able to take some products with them.

After Samarkand, the magazine recommends to visit Bukhara, where are located Ark Fortress, Chor Minor madrasah, Sitorai Mohi-hosa, etc. The magazine recommends to taste a lamb in tandir.

Writing about Khiva, Forbes recommends to taste shivit oshi, shurpa, as well as manti.
